Read & Eat | Social Project

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Read & Eat is a social project that aims to fight the illiteracy that threats to take down the two percent (02%) of the state population where

we live (Sonora, Mexico). By giving books, food, and beverage we hope to bond with children that live in really poor conditions and receive

even poorly education. This way, our goal is to provide these future-to-be citizens the weapons which to hold on to in order to get a good job

and prevent, thus, future jobless criminals.

Hello, guys! How you doin'? It's been quite some time since the last time I wrote anything at all and for that, I'm terribly sorry. Loads of things have happened but what matters is that I'm here today and I couldn't be any happier. How are your vacations going? Mine has just started.

In today's long-time-no-posting post I shall present you all Read & Eat, the social project me, along with my high school friends launch. At first instance, it all started as a mundane project to get a good grade, but as it went on we began to feel immersed in it and we allowed ourselves to dive in. So what at first was only an ordinary assignment became so much more than that: it became a compromise, it became a mission.

Our mission.

In its first edition, the Read & Eat crew visited Lázaro Cárdenas del Río elementary school where 40 classic kids-adapted books were given to second graders as well as a pañalito (a Mexican food) and orange juice. Meanwhile, the team shared with the seven and eight-years-old their personal experience in the literary world, and explained why they recommended reading by pointing out the perks of doing so.

If you donated to the cause thank you so very much! Together, little by little we will make a change!
