Lídice's July wrap-up!

Have I ever mention how much I like to talk about myself in third person? Haven't I? Well, the answer to my previous question is a lot. Dunno, guys, it kinda makes me fell like in Tarzan mood, yeh, know? I find it pretty amusing... So how are you folks doing today? Have you had a good vacation time? Cause I did, nevertheless I did not go anywhere (except for Hogwarts and Camp Half-Blood, that is).

The end of summer vacation implies the end of July which also implies the start of school (woohoo?) which shouldn't be an awful thing except that I'm a freshman in High School. Yeah, you've heard all right. Freshman. That means looking out for bullies, running out late for classes cause (as I'm new, duh) I won't know where my classrooms are. And ugh! Don't even get me started about the making friends process. I hate people, as a reader that's my job. Except for you, I love you all. You are amazing. *sends virtual kisses* But leaving my future High School problems aside, the end of July additionally significates my month wrap-up and my book of the month review. But as I said before, I've just started getting ready for school which means that I have painfully failed my TBR list.

Now, this would be the exactly time where I would put the very sad crying emoji but as I'm writing this on a computer I can't. I was really looking forward to reading all and every single one of the books I had selected for last month but the Univers got on my way...

Damn Univers. *waves fist in the air*

Howeveeeer, that doesn't mean I didn't read anything at all. Oh, no, no, no! I read three of my five books on my TBR so, I will be making a review of them pretty soon. But for today, I will be sharing with you my very first wrap-up! So let's get started with this, shall we? We shall!

Book number one

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

The first book I read on July was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K Rowling. While I was reading the book I couldn't help but give myself a mental high-five for making me give the next book a shot. It was definitely far better than the first one and I'm pretty proud to say that I finished it within a couple of days. I became totally crazy about Dobby, the house-elf, I swear! I just loved him so much I wanted to punch his Master so hard right in the face for mistreating him. And even when the story was quite witty, the ending was pretty much the one I saw coming.

I give Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets 4/5 (the reason why I'm not giving it a higher rating is because I'm saving it for the next books).

Book number two

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters

I started reading Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters right after I had finished Harry Potter. Now, thing is, while the first book (Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief) was a great read, I didn't get that feeling in the second one. It may be probably because I was used to Grover and Chiron and I missed them quite much, or the fact that I didn't see Percy's usual stupidity in action (is that even a word? lol) but for one thing or another, I enjoyed the first book better. However, the ending? OH GODS! The ending was the best part of the book! Totally loved it! In this second part we miss some characters but we grow fond of others, we watch Percy slowly growing up (by the way, August 18th has just passed a few days ago! Happy birthday to Percy, yupeeee!) and we also see how things begin to get a little serious for our main and favorite fishy-character as a new profecy opens its way...

Rating: 4/5

Book number three

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

It is my very great pleasure to announce that I have read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and found it genuinely amazing! I mean, you all know I wasn't very fond of the first book and even when the second book seemed to be a whole deal better than the previous one, the third book however was really, really captivating and addictive! I enjoyed Harry Potter's adventures more than ever and just couldn't help reading till late midnight just to finish the book and put my ambitious hands all over the next book: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. One of the things I best liked about this book was that we get a little sneak peek into Harry's father, James Potter, of whom little did we know before. We also met a new character and little by little we are getting to know a bit more of Professor Snap, whose past has to do with Harry's father as well. I loved that in this book time-traveling is involved and the fact that not everything is what is seems just get's us expecting the very worse from the edge of our seats with a tight grip on the book...

Rating: 4.5/5

So here you have, guys, my very first wrap-up ever! I will definitely be making a review of these books later on just to have a little deeper conversation about thsese lovely babies. Hope you liked it!

With all my love (not that is much, though)
