Hello readers! If you´re looking for a book that´s full of action, suspense, and a little romance, you have come to the right place, I´m going to share with you this review of an awesome book called legend, I really hope I can convince you to read it because this book definitely deserves a chance.

As the synopsis says, this book sets in the Republic, which once was the western United States. The author gives us two completely different points of view. The one that lives in the poorest sections of the Republic known as the most wanted criminal in the whole republic, called by the alias of: Day. The other point of view this author gives us is the one of a girl who was fortunate enough to born in an elite family, in one of the Republic´s wealthiest sectors, a Prodigy named June. They´re both 15 years old and have some of the same skills.

The Republic has lived in war against the colonies for a long time, they both try to destroy each other but The Colonies want the republics territory to live in union, The Republic doesn´t believe a word they say so they´re trying to win against them and the colonies too, the ones who are working with the colonies are called The Patriots.

As if the divide between the poor from the reach wasn´t already something remarkable, when the children’s are 10 years old, they have to pass a Trial, this trial has a combination of three phases: physical, oral and a written one. If you get a high score at this trial, you get the privilege to get in the highest universities the Republic has, but if you get a lower score you fail the trail- like Day did-. If you fail it the republic will kill you, that simple, you´re not useful for them anymore, they say they will take you to labor camps, but the only labor camp you´ll get is the morgue, Day found a way to escape when everyone thought he was dead, and he had to find a way of leaving by stealing and this way he has become the most wanted criminal in the whole republic.

There´s a plague that always hits the poorest sectors and causes deaths of so many people, the ones who live with it find the doors of their houses painted with a large red X by the military and no one can get in or out of that house because they can get infected by hanging out with these people who already are. There’s a cure for the plague, but not everyone can afford it so not everyone can receive it. Day tries to keep their family safe but one day he notices a red X marked on his family’s door-His mom and little brother- who think he´s dead- and his older brother who knows he´s alive- He knows he needs to get the cure, to steal the cure and right here people is where all the drama starts.

Somehow Metias got murdered the same day Day (lol) was trying to steal the cure, so that´s enough for the Republic to think of day as the prime suspect. The only person who can stop day is June Iparis, the girl who got a perfect score on her trial and wants to catch the one who was responsible for his brother´s death. In a bloody shock of events, as the synopsis says, they will find out what really brought them together, this country has lied to them in ways no one can even imagine, and worst things the Republic will go to keep their secrets as they are.

This book is something I couldn´t put down, seriously guys; there was not a part I got bored with. It is full of suspense, non-stop action and a little romance, the plot twists are really shocking, and trust me guys, there´s more tan one. Marie Lu did a pretty good job at writing this story and creating this characters, you can effortless read this book because of the way she wrote it, I will keep reading the series, and you should give this book a chance, really, it will not disappoint you.

Some quotes from the book that I loved and hopefully will make you read it:

“Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you die in the moment, you take it all one day at a time.”

“I don't know if anyone's ever told you this", he begins. He doesn't blush, and his eyes don't dart away. Instead I find myself staring into a pair of oceans - one perfect, the other blemished by that tiny ripple. "You're very attractive." I've been complimented on my appearance before. But never in his tone of voice. Of all the things he's said, I don't know why this catches me off guard. But it startles me so much that without thinking I blurt out, "I could say the same about you." I pause. "In case you didn't know." A slow grin spreads across his face. "Oh, trust me. I know.”

“If you want to rebel, rebel from inside the system. That's much more powerful than rebelling outside the system.”

"I will hunt you down. I will scour the streets of Los Angeles for you. Search every street in the Republic if I have to. I will trick you and deceive you, lie, cheat and steal to find you, tempt you out of your hiding place, and chase you until you have nowhere else to run. I make you this promise: your life is mine."

Till next time readers,
